Year in review: 2021

Curious about what we’ve been up to this year? Here are some of our sustainability highlights from 2021.

A second life for laptops

Even today, many people still have trouble using computers. At the same time, the growing amount of discarded electronic devices is a global environmental problem.

Digi Surfer provides refurbished laptops and digital literacy courses to people who need them. Tackling both problems at once: more people join the digital world and less e-waste ends up in landfill.

Digi Surfer’s online calling card didn’t quite match their ambitious vision yet. That’s why we developed a new website and a unique style guide for them.

Greener city streets

Guerrilla Gardeners are a movement of urban gardeners who turn grey spaces into oases for wildlife. When you plant flowers and sow seeds, your neighbourhood becomes more liveable for both people and animals.

Guerrilla Gardeners thought it was time for a new website. We came up with a design that goes perfectly with their cheerful green mission.

Boosting creative business

One of the biggest creative breeding grounds in the Netherlands is home to more than 100 artists and entrepreneurs. They offer a wide range of services, but they weren’t always findable online.

We helped develop a new website for De Biotoop, including a searchable database of every business and workshop on the premises. Since the launch of the new website, more and more new customers have been finding their way to the carpenters, painters and coders.

Sustainable web hosting

How sustainable is your website? Since web hosting servers have to run constantly, data centres consume vast amounts of energy. Unfortunately, most of the electricity still comes from non-renewable sources.

That’s why Green Marketers offers green web hosting. Our hosting services are 100% sustainable, and you’ll never have to worry about updates or backups again.

Supporting energy co-ops

There’s a growing realization that engaged citizens can make a real difference for the environment. Energy co-operatives are a great example: more and more people are generating green energy in their own neighbourhoods.
This year we were asked to help 7 energy co-ops get their message across.
